Project Brief:
This project reclaims a historic site, transforming it into a shared civic ground that prioritizes people over the monuments.
The design is defined by two contrasting atmospheres: one half is a lively, "mela"-like public space designed for high-energy community gatherings and festivities. The other half is a quiet network of colonnades, offering a meandering journey with subtle glimpses of exhibitions and the ruins.
Acting as the buffer between these two worlds are open-ended courtyards. These spaces allow the pavilion to adapt to the rhythms of the city—holding the chaotic energy of a crowd, while effortlessly transforming into a quiet, breathing sanctuary for the lone visitor and wandering peacocks when the festival ends.
